Join CoastXP to experience the breathtaking coastal scenery of Lake Macquarie on a fun-filled offshore adventure. Explore the waters outside the Swansea Channel with resident dolphins, sea birds, long-nosed fur seals and in-season whales (May – Nov). Feel the excitement as you get close to the action on our custom-built boat, Hydro.

How does the booking process work?
Depending on what time of year you book, guests can either join the Ocean Explorer Tour (Nov – May) or Whale Discovery Tour (May – Nov) and during the booking process can opt to add a two-course lunch to your booking.
Guests will select the day and time for the boat tour, and restaurant bookings will be confirmed after the boat tour booking is made.
How close is the boat and restaurant from each other?
This is a self-drive package. The boat tour departs from Swansea and the restaurant is based in Belmont. These two locations are usually about 10-minutes apart, but we always allow enough time for you to get from one to the other.
Where should I park?
When boarding for the boat tour, free parking is available near Swansea RSL or close to the Swansea Swim Centre on Channel Street. Click here for a map of how to find our departure location, including our best parking suggestions. When arriving at the restaurant for lunch, there is free parking onsite.
What activities do you recommend in the break?
Depending on the time of year, and what tour you book, there may be a short break between the boat tour and lunch. There are lots of beautiful places to explore including the Pirrita Island Boardwalk, Caves Beach, Reids Reserve, Blacksmiths Grannies Pool, Blacksmiths Breakwall, Belmont Baths, Pelican Foreshore or Swansea Foreshore.
