How does the booking process work?
When booking the Ride and Fly Tour, we will ask for your “preferred date”. Because we have to align our boat and flight schedules, we will then get in touch with you regarding your flight options after you have booked.
We try to align the boat and helicopter for you all in one day (subject to availability), but we will confirm travel dates and times with you directly after the booking has been made.
What are the helicopter weight requirements?
Based on the type of helicopter Aero Logistics operate, no individual can be over 135kgs, and for groups of three passengers, there is a combined maximum weight of 260kg for a 10-minute scenic flight or 220kgs for a 30-minute scenic flight.
How long is the scenic flight?
Included in the package is a 10-minute scenic flight. Although, should you wish to upgrade to a longer flight time, you can choose to do this when booking. We have upgrade options of 15-minutes, 20-minutes, 30-minutes and 45-minutes.
How close is the boat and helicopter from each other?
The boat tour departs from Honeysuckle foreshore, and the helicopter scenic flight departs from Mayfield West. These two locations are usually about 15-minutes apart, but we always allow enough time for you to get from one to the other.
Where should I park?
When boarding for the boat tour, paid parking is available moments from the wharf at Honeysuckle Foreshore. Click here for a map on how to find our departure location, including our best parking suggestions. When arriving at Newcastle Regional Heliport for the scenic flight, there is free parking onsite.
