Frequently Asked Questions

How close will we get to the sea caves?

The sea caves at Caves Beach and Pinney’s Headland are some of the highlights on our Adventure Tour, and we try to give guests a close experience. How close, is of course dependent on the sea conditions themselves. You can rest assured, your skipper will position the vessel in a safe location to make sure everyone aboard can get a nice photo of the caves.

How far does the tour go?

Our Adventure Tour covers 30 kilometres of the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Coastline. Departing from the Honeysuckle Foreshore, we travel approximately 60 kilometres in the space of 2.5-hours.

What marine animals can I see? Will I see dolphins?

Newcastle and Lake Macquarie are home to resident bottlenose dolphins, which we’re fortunate to encounter regularly. At times, we also see many other marine animals from common dolphins, to long-nosed fur seals, turtles, penguins, sharks and many species of seabirds. Remember that these are all wild animals and it is not guaranteed that we will see them on any given day.

Where should I park?

Paid parking is available moments from the wharf at Honeysuckle Foreshore. Click here for a map on how to find our departure location, including our best parking suggestions.

Are there toilets on the trip?

Yes! There are toilets at the Rydges Hotel, as well as along the Honeysuckle Foreshore near our departure location, and we even have a toilet on board!
