Now’s The Time to Love NSW
The tourism industry in Australia, and importantly New South Wales has in recent months been devastated by drought, bushfires, and even coronavirus. Thanks to Destination NSW and Tourism Australia the message is clear. Take a Recovery Weekend in NSW and Holiday Here This Year. Now is the time to Love NSW.
Following these recent events, NSW now needs your support to help rebuild homes, businesses and communities. The best way to do this is to live like a local both in your own hometown, as well as travelling to somewhere new.
Now is the time to #lovensw.
Live like a local — at home.
Whether it be a coffee by the beach, a glass of wine in the Hunter Valley, shopping along Darby St or touring the coastline on one of our experiences, there is plenty to see and do in Newcastle and its surrounds. To give you a head start, we have made a list of our top 10 things to do in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens.
Live like a local — somewhere new.
Through Destination New South Wales, locals are encouraged to get out and explore all that NSW has to offer by packing your bags and taking a #recoveryweekend somewhere new. This may be a bushfire-affected area or another area you haven’t visited before.
Recently, we took a recovery weekend in the Blue Mountains. Pictured above is the world heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park which spans a staggering 2,690 km². Part of this visit included staying locally, visiting local experiences, shops, cafes and restaurants. Each of the places we visited, you got a sense of their appreciation for just being there and showing your support.
The message from Tourism Australia is to #holidayherethisyear. Many Australians rely on tourism as part of their livelihood. Devastatingly, this year many wild places in NSW have seen the harsh impacts of bushfires. A lot of these destinations are still the same destinations that we have come to know and love, and now is the time to get out and explore them.
Show your commitment to holiday at home this year by joining the Facebook Event.
